On First Base marks the debut of the trio Nie Myer on the record label dsrptv rec. Composed by members of the Brazilian band Skank, Lelo Zanetti and Henrique Portugal, along with DJ and producer Anderson Noise, the project has already delivered fascinating works through the conversation between jazz, Brazilian popular music and electronic music. The result of the partnership is a deep and sensitive work, a result of the experience that the consolidated carrers of the musicians from Minas Gerais added to the creative freedom. The album has five tracks, two of them in partnership with the producer L_cio from São Paulo. As usual, the instrumentalist musician delivers his unmistakable signature through the transverse flute on "Searching For" and "Memory Persistence", tracks that open and close the release."Searching For" opening track is a perfect example of the project's potential, with dense bass lines guided with class by the delicate transverse flute. Moving on to "Jazzy Moment", the sound characteristics propose a dancing atmosphere, which amidst the jazz elements invites the listener to an intimate dance. "Rainbow Road" is a track marked by rhodes and drums talking in counterpoint to the saxophone, while "Drive In" surprises by revealing itself to be strong and intense towards the end, with accelerated beats that promote a certain sense of urgency. Closing the work is "Memory Persistence", a deep song, with basses in lower tones and the flute as melancholic as a persistent memory can be.
